Bike to Cure Event

Bike Transport (Loader/Unloader)

The first experience our Riders & Guests will have is getting themselves and their bikes from the parking lot to the Mall B venue. We're looking for friendly helpers to assist with loading and unloading bikes on to the transport truck. This activity requires Volunteers to lift bicycles and be on your feet for extended periods of time.

Bike to Cure Event

Bike Marshal

If you are a proficient rider and can lend a helping hand with bike maintenance, then this is the role for you! Bike Marshals will be positioned on the Guardians City Loop, 12-Mile and 25-Mile course to encourage Riders, assist with mechanical issues and report back to the Command Center. This position requires Volunteers to have their own bike, their own cell phone and be knowledgeable about bike safety and maintenance. You will be contacted prior to event day with information such as maps and detailed instructions.

Course Marshal – Downtown

Volunteers fill a variety of jobs, depending on their location, which include: crossing guards, VeloSano event representatives for other road users, warning riders of upcoming obstacles and cheering on Riders throughout the event. A Course Manager will contact all Course Marshals with confirmation details prior to event weekend. Please note that shifts could be subject to change should there be a weather delay.

Cheer Station – Lakeside Reservation

Volunteers at the Lakeside Reservation Cheer Station will cheer on Riders during the last leg of the trip home. The Cheer Station will be located in the Lakefront Reservation on Marginal Road in downtown Cleveland. This park will serve as a water station for our riders, propelling them the last few miles to the finish line.

Bike Checkers

It’s like coat check, but for bikes! These Volunteers will be stationed at entry and drop-off points, directing Riders how to obtain/apply their bike plate and safely store their bike in the corral. This position requires Volunteers to be active and on their feet for the majority of their shift.

Mall B Finish Line Community Cheer Squad

Help our Riders get past the finish line! Volunteers will cheer on Riders as they come through the shoot and finish line. Cowbells, signs and lots of cheering encouraged!

Bike Corral Attendant

Assist Riders as they self-check their bicycles in our secure corral. Volunteers will help to keep bikes organized and ensure Riders appropriately rack and retrieve their bike. This position requires Volunteers to be active and on their feet for the majority of their shift.

Mall B Tear-Down

All good things must come to an end. Our Tear-Down Team will assist with removing signage, fencing, tables, chairs, etc. from the Mall B venue in downtown Cleveland. Don’t forget to wear comfortable clothes and shoes as this outdoor activity involves manual labor and some heavy lifting.
